Charles City is Dean’s hometown. He graduated CCHS (1980) and the UNI School of Business (1984). After working as a stockbroker and sales manager, he returned in 1988 to join his father at Larry Stewart Realty and bought the firm in 2008, making it a second‑generation agency.
Dean is serving his third term on the Northeast Iowa REALTORS® Board of Directors (policy, financial, and oversight for ~700 members) and has held leadership roles with the Charles City Chamber, Main Street Iowa, and Rotary. He also enjoys serving youth locally and abroad. His family lives nearby in the Rochester, Minnesota, area, and he loves spending time with them and his grandchildren.
Dean’s real estate journey began with filing paper MLS property data sheets in the early 1970s and working on properties in the late 1970s–80s. He got his license in 1988 and now owns and operates Stewart Realty Company, which serves the Northeast Iowa region. He’s grateful for every client, every property, every opportunity, and the ongoing support from the community.
